Dr. Bahaa Helmy Writes: The Day of Salvation

The story began on 25 January 2011 with a popular uprising and a prominent role for young people looking forward to a bright future and aspiring to achieve bread, freedom and social justice.
But the terrorist group had another vision and other goals, as it considered it a golden opportunity to achieve its historic dream of seizing power; they allied themselves with the revolutionary forces and merged into the events, and 28 January was the headline of the Brotherhood’s style of rule.
Many citizens did not realize that the planning and execution of the events of the “Friday of Rage” would be the approach and ideology of the group throughout its history since Great Britain created it.
They ruled the country and conspired against the interests of the nation and its citizens, and announced that they would continue in power for 500 years; the people witnessed every form of suffering at all levels, whether in the deterioration of services and utilities and the scarcity of fuel, or in the daily crises and the inability to secure the basic needs of citizens’ lives, or in the exclusionary approach of the group, which broke its pledges and increased the volume of injustices.
The Egyptians became certain of the group’s failure to run the country, and that their first concern was to achieve their hidden hopes and secret agendas, to seek to divide the country, and to begin forming and training militias along the lines of the Revolutionary Guard in Iran and in coordination with it to protect the group, strike the national institutions, spread strife and stir up internal conflicts, at the same time as their president at the time issued their tyrannical constitutional declaration in November 2012.
The group relied on a show of force and on building an alliance of themselves with takfiris, extremists, kidnappers and terrorist groups to implement their strategy, and on their use of violence and torture against the protests of the political forces and to terrorize citizens.
Then salvation came on 30 June 2013, the day on which the people decided to recover Egypt as a homeland for its children and not for “the family and the clan”, as the group announced during its rule of the country.
The Egyptians gathered in the squares of Egypt in an event that dazzled the whole world, with the grandmother taking part with the grandfather and their grandchildren, the woman with the man and their children, and the young men and women raising the flag of Egypt and chanting “the people, the army and the police are one hand”, united as one in the face of the injustice of the group. Citizens chanted “Down with the rule of the Guide, Egypt is being lost, O Badie”.
The members of the terrorist group clung to their false legitimacy and mobilized their followers and supporters and some who had been misled, in return for a daily wage and a meal, practising sexual jihad, killing and every form of violence against anyone who disagreed with them, in the manner of ISIS, before humanity and the heavenly religions cast them out.
The group used to repeat hollow slogans, false chants and threats to burn the country and its people to its supporters, and rejected the national efforts and international initiatives for them to submit to the will of the people, with all its components, and of the state’s security institutions, which sided with and pledged to protect the land and people of Egypt and secure their aspirations.
The people called on their sons in the army, the police and the judiciary to apply the rule of law swiftly and to confront the terrorist group’s violations of the law and of humanity and its betrayal of trust, conscience and honour.
The citizens and all the sects and representatives of society and the political forces insisted on calling on the army commander at the time, Field Marshal Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to run for office in order to take on the responsibility, achieve safety and material and moral security, protect the country and achieve economic development for future generations.
Since he took on the responsibility, the wheel of development and improvement has started to cover all fields, and unprecedented and continuing achievements have been realized, which have astonished and puzzled the world as to what is being done, how and from where.
So greetings to the leadership and to the Egyptians, who set the finest examples and models in defending the homeland, civilization, history and the future of their children, with a purely Egyptian patriotic spirit and sense. I was honoured to be responsible for follow-up and a witness to these events.
