Central Security Official to the Shura Council: We Will Not Accept Being «Both Culprit and Victim»… and the Uniform Will Change Soon

Maj. Gen. Bahaa Helmy, Assistant Director of the Central Security Forces for Planning and Follow-up, stressed on Sunday that «the forces will not accept being the culprit and the victim at the same time, as used to happen under the former regime».

Responding to demands by members of the Shura Council's Committee on Arab and Foreign Affairs and National Security during the committee's meeting on Sunday evening, Helmy said the sector is currently studying a change to the forces' uniform that would give them adequate protection, including protection from fire, explaining that this will happen soon.

Helmy urged the Council to issue the demonstrations law quickly, and added, during the meeting devoted to discussing the situation of the Central Security Forces, that «Central Security conscripts are selected by the Armed Forces, and over the last three years those joining the service have been of level 6, that is, holders of the General Secondary Certificate or its equivalent, unlike in the past».
