Mercenary Companies

Mercenary Companies

Dr. Bahaa Helmy Writes:

At present there are more than 35 companies in the United States of America doing the same work, which are assigned operations in various countries of the world and have made profits estimated at 100 billion dollars in previous years, and many mercenaries from various countries of the world are currently taking part in the Ukrainian war.

Mercenaries are foreign contractors assigned to fighting, hostilities and the implementation of programmes of chaos in favour of one party to an armed conflict against another party in return for pay. They are neither nationals of a party to the conflict nor residents of territory controlled by a party to the conflict (the Additional Protocol to the 1949 Geneva Conventions).

International conventions prohibit the recruitment, use, financing or training of mercenaries, yet the Western states that call for human rights, foremost the United States of America, have founded international mercenary companies and called them security companies, according to the vision of US national security advisers, such as the Jones Group, led by the US security adviser to President Barack Obama, who was a member of NATO’s board during the strike on Libya in 2001 to implement the plan of chaos (the Arab Spring).

Some of these multinational companies are founded in other states loyal to the great powers whose laws do not prohibit these activities, in order to conceal them and evade diplomatic, legal and moral responsibility.

These companies include former security and military personnel, trainers and fighters whose creed is killing for money, and some of them are assigned guarding and security work.

Or they are assigned to train regular forces and paramilitary groups in counter-insurgency, the suppression of unrest and the protection of VIPs in some states, to consolidate the pillars of loyal regimes or to stir up unrest in them.

These companies are financed with the necessary capital, often dirty money, and their operations are managed by Western intelligence services to achieve their goals, like the companies the United States used in the Vietnam War under the supervision of the CIA, which were called at the time (black operations), after the army suffered heavy human losses there.

The American administration under President Bush Jr. used the Blackwater company in Iraq, whose members, together with some American soldiers, men and women, committed unprecedented crimes against humanity, some of which circulated on social media, such as torturing people, sexual assault, exposing their private parts and photographing them naked.

The Obama administration then put pressure on the Iraqi government to sign an agreement not to hold the perpetrators of those crimes accountable for their acts.

The United States of America also assigned the preparation and training of the substitute army in Iraq to the Academi company, after destroying the army and national institutions and entrenching chaos, then reaping the profits from the production of natural resources and oil in return for this work.

Russia and Turkey have founded similar companies and pushed their fighters into Syria, Libya and some African countries to carry out their operations, whether to control natural resources or to return to the international scene, such as the Russian Wagner Group in Mali, Mauritania, Libya and elsewhere.

Likewise the Turkish SADAT company, which includes more than 15,000 Syrians engaged in the Syrian war and the fighting against the Kurds, and in Azerbaijan, and securing the arrival of more than 6,000 mercenary fighters in Libya, concluding agreements to train regular and security forces, providing military equipment and supporting armed militias to serve its interests and ambitions and reap profits.

The question arises: how long will the United States and the West deceive the world and prattle about human rights and democracy while they violate human rights and commit the most heinous crimes against humanity?
